Hostel on the Miziowa Meadow

On the slopes of Pilsko in the Żywiec Beskids there is the highest-situated hostel in the Polish Beskids – the hostel on the Miziowa Meadow [Hala Miziowa]. This mountain is the second highest peak of the Beskids and it constitutes a popular vantage point, with a broad panorama of the Western Beskids, the Tatras, the mountains of Slovakia, and if the visibility is perfect, also of the eastern peaks of the Sudetes. Thanks to its microclimate, Pilsko has become a mecca for winter sports fans. A rich network of ski lifts and ski trails with different levels of difficulty attracts many skiers and snowboarders. It is also one of favourite places for ski-touring fans. People who have never tried ski touring can avail themselves of trainings offered by qualified coaches. There is also an all-year station of the Mountain Volunteer Search and Rescue Service operating here, which provides tourists with safety and professional care. Next to the hostel there is a winter and summer sports equipment rental and service, as well as a ski school.The hostel has 88 beds, a conference room, and a barbecue cottage for 30 people. Families who appreciate spending their free time in the mountains, can avail themselves of an all-year family package, which covers discount for accommodation (at least three nights) and board, as well as access to the attractions within the perimeter of the hostel. Tourists are free to use a billiard table, a football table, a ping-pong table, a library, a kids’ corner, and a playground for children. There is a WiFi access within the entire territory of the hostel. The hostel also hosts numerous events and functions.
