Inn on Równica

Równica is an 884 m high mountain in the branch of the Wisła Range in the Silesian Beskids, situated between the valleys of the Vistula river and the Brennica river. From beneath its peak, one can admire a broad panorama of the Silesian Beskids. It is the first peak on the way of hikers taking the Main Beskids Trail – a long-distance trail of 500 kilometres (approx.), running from Ustroń in the Silesian Beskid as far as to Wołosate in the Bieszczady Mountains.

On the peak clearing at the altitude of 758 m above sea level, there is a former hostel of the Polish Tourist Society on Równica, which today functions as an inn. In 1921 the German organisation Touristenverein built a small wooden hostel on a stone foundation here. Five years later the facility was purchased by the Upper Silesian Branch of the Polish Tatra Society in Katowice. Over the following two years a new stylish hostel was built, nearly from scratch. Today you can reach it taking one of numerous hiking trails or an asphalt road from Ustroń. Due to an easy approach this hostel is accessible to all tourists, including those not accustomed to mountain trekking. The facility offers 50 beds, a stylish restaurant room, where functions can be organised, as well as a conference room with a full sound system. Visitors can also enjoy a common living room, WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, a garden, and a private car park.
